Oh dear, Special A Love Triangles..

I just finished watching the latest episode of Special A, episode 17. It would seem the Akira, Yahiro and Tadashi love triangle is picking up rather quickly ^-^

Akira seems to finally be recognizing her feelings for Tadashi, even though he's blind as a bat and can't even see the tell tale signs, as most men usually are.
Picture 45

Akira's Father asked her to go to a marriage interview, seeing as she has no boy in her sights. (or so he thinks) This entire Episode is pretty much based on Hikari trying her best to cheer Akira up as she seems down from some strange reason. Akira, being Akira, chose not to tell anyone about the marriage interview.

In this episode the Special A group helps out at another school's festival, in hopes it would cheer Akira up. Yahiro was given a chance to interact with Akira by recovering her lost cell phone for her. They had a little lovey dovey moment. It meant the world to him, but she was obviously oblivious to it.
Picture 47

Near the end of the episode, Tadashi overhears Akira talking about her marriage interview on the phone. Being the hopeless male that he is, he of course makes careless remarks about it, saying she might find a good guy after all. Bad move, Tadashi, bad move.
In retaliation, Akira slapped that bitch up.
Picture 46

I have to give her kudos for having the strength as I, personally, have never slapped someone in a fit of inner struggle and pain. It looks so alleviating. Or maybe not. Akira ran off in tears to leave poor ol' Tadashi shocked and bewildered, wondering what the heck just happened and using all his male brain power to figure out what he said wrong.

In other Special A love news, Sakura is still deeply in love with Jun, who is also deeply engrossed in running away from her.
Picture 48

And Kei is still insanely over protective of Hikari, who, for a good portion of this episode, was dressed in a pink rabbit suit.
Picture 49

I can only hope that Akira FINALLY confesses how she feels about Tadashi. That is, if she's really certain how she feels herself.

Until NEXT time!

Anime, Anime, Anime..

So it's been far too long since my last post. I must apologize. Gomen. -_-

Truth be told I've been so busy with work. Working away from home sure slows down my blogging process.
I've been uploading videos to Veoh like crazy. I have over 100 now all vying for the attention of your eyes and ears. My "currently watching" list in the sidebar needs an update badly as I've added so many more new shows. @_@
All of which I have to say I'm enjoying quite thoroughly.

Blade of the Immortal is quickly becoming a favourite. Only two episodes have aired thus far but I can tell it's one I'll be watching to the very end. The animation seem to be a bit darker than in most, colourwise, but it definitely suits the mood of the show. (I even tried fixing the brightness of my monitor but nay, the anime was just made that dark :P)

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu is.. well, simple. The plot isn't very intense and the characters seem average. I'm really only watching it for the Akiba plot line. I was actually quite surprised at how they treat people who enjoy anime to that extent. I suppose I just assumed that everyone in Japan enjoyed anime. Episode 3 brought that thought crumbling down as the student's harshness was shown towards Yuuto when he claims Haruka's anime book as his own. Shocking, really. I knew people could be that harsh here in North America but I didn't feel it possible in Japan.

Antique Bakery is becoming quite popular. Each episode I upload instantly accumulates hundreds of views. :) But I have to say it is a pretty good show thus far. Things are finally starting to heat up between Ono and Chikage. Ono still goes bananas whenever Chikage removes his glasses. :P Oh man on man love is so romantic.
I kind of wish Tachibana's kidnapping plot would move along a bit faster but the animators seem to want to leave it until last. Guess they need something to keep the show going.

I'm curently uploading the first episode of Eve no Jikan. It looks to be quite interesting and hopefully will be an enjoyable hit. I watched the trailer on the anime's homesite but.. yes, it's in Japanese so I couldn't tell what the plot was other than the slightly vague one given on myanimelist.net. Reminds me a bit of Bicentennial man with Robin Williams. Time shall tell..

That's all for now. I'll be updating more of the shows I'm watching as I go on. Keep it real on the flipside, home slices.

p.s. I promise I won't go that long without posting ever again. Cross my heart and hope to die :P

Special A and Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~

Finally got around to watching some special A.

It's pretty alright. A rivalry between a boy and a girl who've known each other since they were about six or so. No matter how hard Hikari tries she always comes up second to Kei. Uncanny, really. BUT.. twist of fate would have it that even though Hikari views Kei as her ultimate rival in life, he secretly loves her.

Everyone together now: Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

Kei's feelings were released pretty early into the series so I'm not sure where the plot is heading other than lot's of examples of how Kei's feelings are ALMOST explained to Hikari.
Nevertheless, it is a cute comedy/romance anime.

Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~, on the other hand, hasn't progressed very far at all. Actually, the first episode moved along very.. very slowly.
Sora is a young girl who is able to use magic. She was accepted to an internship of Magic in the big city of Tokyo and has to move there and complete it.

Yep.. that's about all we learned in the first episode.

Oh, she also made a promise to her Dad. And can make snow.
Hopefully the plot will pick up in future episodes.
On a more positive note, the background illustrations are AMAZING. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the first scene. They look like slightly altered pictures of actual landscapes. 'Tis truly amazing.
The great illustrations did help to keep my attention. So I will continue to watch Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~ if not for the plot, at least for the beautiful backgrounds.

Veoh is my homeboy

I've been rather busy this past weekend. Haven't watched too many new shows, but managed to start watching Allison and Lillia as well as Vampire Knight.

O. Ma. Lawd.

Vampire Knight is my new late night lovah. It is one of the best shows I have watched in the past couple months. Not sure what it is about the story line that has caught my attention, but before I knew it, I had sat through 8 straight consecutive episodes of it. >.<

I'm working on keeping track of the unlicenced anime I'm watching by uploading them onto Veoh. Rah rah rah Veoh! Veoh has to be one of my favourite video sites because you can both watch AND download. How superb is that?

Sometimes I have a bit of trouble uploading the videos I want to only because I have an mvk version on my computer and when I upload it, it shows up on veoh without the subtitles :( Not sure how to convert it with the subtitles so I have to find a downloadable .avi version or something similar. Ah well.

You can find the videos I'm watching available on my veoh on the right hand tool bar list of "what I'm watching. Easy as pie.

I hope you'll all follow along with me. ^.^

Stike Witches and Sekirei: WOW Fanservice Galore

I'm trying my best to catch up on all the anime I'm oh so far behind on. -_- To help me do so, I started watching the newly released anime; Strike Witches and Sekirei.

...Wow.

Sekirei wasn't too bad. It was enjoyable even.
Minato is a struggling 19 year old failing his second attempt at entering university and feeling pretty bad about it.
By some strange twist of fate he bumps into (more like crashes into) Musubi, a Sekirei; a female warrior in a secret battle against other sekirei to become "God". The only thing is she still needs an Ashikabi to give her wings, a human with special traits able to partner with sekirei. Well wouldn't you know it, her ashikabi turns out to be Minato.

It looks like it's going to be a cute, funny, and romantic anime, something I'll be keeping track of. (even if Musubi's breasts are insanely abnormally large. @_@..)

Now onto Strike Witches..
First, let's examine this picture, shall we?

hmmm..

how many of the characters look like they're wearing pants?
About three I would say.
Can you guess what the other girls are wearing?
No, not boy shorts. Nope, not a skort either.
They're wearing panties. Underwear. Skivies, called by some.
Not only are most of the characters of this show dressed in panties, but they show it off like no tomorrow. I swear your could see the poor girl's vulva in one shot. >.<
Nevertheless, I'll still be continuing to watch Strike Witches, if not in hopes for more pants, at least to solve the mystery behind yoshika's Fathers disappearance.. >_>

Check out Strike Witches and Sekirei and tell me what you think!

Trying to be tactful with Tactics

I've been watching Tactics the past few weeks. So far I've made it up to episode 10 and I have to admit.. I'm barely holding on. The plot is so thin it's practically translucent. Kantarou found and released Haruka in the first episode and all that has happened since then is demon killing and monster taming and ocassional slightly humourous arguments. No real plot advancement, just a bunch of short stories with a different plot each episode.

That type of storyline is similar in Mizushima's xxxHolic. (which I am also currently watching) I don't know whether it's the more intellectually stories in xxxHolic or the unique character design and illustration but I find myself more engaged while watching it.
My only complaint about xxxHolic is how the main character Watanuki acts like such a blatant imbecile around Himawari or whenever she is mentioned. I know deep down inside that it's only a momentary phase of stupidity as hopefully further on in the series he changes into a more confident and secure man. Hopefully..
I DO Like his positivity and willingness to look for the best in everyone. (even Domeki eventually) It's one of the qualities that makes him a likable protagonist. Yuko's beauty, charm, and cleverness wins pretty much everyone's attention right from the beginning. Not to mention her two adorable echoing sidekicks. Even Watanuki's sworn enemy Domeki is likable. Pretty much an allstar cast of enjoyable characters. xxxHolic is an anime I will definitely be finishing.

His and Her Circumstances

I'm about halfway through the series His and Her Circumstances and I have to say it both amazed and disappointed me. Moreso amazed. But yes.. disappointment. They seem to have quite a lot of flashback scenes which I suppose wouldn't seem so irritating if you had been watching the series an episode a week on TV compared to a chunk of episodes at once. But yes, flashbacks always frustrate me and they seem to be used quite a bit in this anime. On a more positive note (I swear I'm an optimist, I SWEAR) the animation style is beautiful. They use quite a few still shots which I am assuming is from the manga. (I have not read it)
They were also not afraid to experiment with different types of animation. The reocurring city surroundings clip played several times in episode 13 while Tsubasa was reflecting upon herself intrigued me. I found it to be a beautifully artistic way to represent that part of her life. It also created a new visual interest for the episode.
Kare Kano is definitely a consuming drama (thankfully not as emotionally exhausting as Peach Girl @_@) and almost every love scene had me on the edge of my seat. Masami Tsuda has the ability to create so much tension and suspense in the seemingly most simple of romantic situations. Things like kissing and hugging, which aren't considered much by North American standards, are given a new and more important standing in the hierarchy of crucial relationship checkpoints. It's enough to make me wish I could relive all my first experiences. Ahhhh to be young again. I am a sucker for romance and His and Her Circumstances has enough to keep me watching the next half of the series. I'm sure it will continue with more learning experiences, personal growth, and Arima and Miyazawa's relationship drama. I do wish the best for them and hope they stay together.

I suppose only time and higher episode numbers will tell >_>

Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka Anime

I came across some interesting news today on ANN. Feng's 2007 adult PC game Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka will be adapted into a tv animation. No date has been given thus far to when the series will be released, but animation studio TNK plans to start the animation process this fall. Sooo, after doing a bit of research myself, it takes about 3 months or there abouts to create one completed episode. Hopefully the process can be sped up slightly seeing as the story is already laid out before them with the popular PC game.

So maybe if we all hold hands and dance together Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka TV will be ready in.. the end of 2009? Maybe mid 2010? Or perhaps I'm too positive minded D:

Death Note Short Review

Hello everyone. My name is Amy and I'm an anime addict.

Being out on the road and away from long hours of internet access has left me slightly behind the times.

Well.. okay, what I'm about to admit isn't really affected by my recent lack of connection enjoyment, but moreso a more longterm slacking on my part.

I, Amoo, have only now JUST begun watching Death Note. *cringe*

Now, now! Please refrain from pelting me with tomatoes and last night's left over sloppy joe as I already feel guilty enough about it. D:

So far I have only seen the first four episodes in English dubbing (again, please refrain from throwing legumes in my general direction) which, to my surprise, I found not too bad. Both the anime AND the English voice casting, I mean. If you'd like to check it out, click here and here. (first two eps in english dub)

The beginning of the anime moves along rather fast with the introduction of Ryuk and Light's plans for the Death Note happening in the first episode. By episode four, the enigmic and mysterious L has already found so much information on the where abouts of Light that it's hard for me to imagine what other major elements can be added to the plot to make it continue the 33 more episodes to equal the full 37 episode length of the series.

Ryuk really has to be what makes the series for me. He's just there to enjoy the ride AND even though he says he's not picking sides with anyone, when he somewhat helped Light out with the stalking FBI man in episode four, I had to really wonder if he was keeping his word. Could Ryuk actually find amicable qualities in Light? Or is he only giving him hints of help to keep the whole dramatic ordeal going so he has something to amuse himself with? I suppose only time will tell.

Also, I don't even want to THINK about the look that will be on Soichiro's face when he finds out Light, his son, is "Kira". Oi yoi, parental disappointment is one of my worst nightmares. Mind you, my worst disappointment to my parents (almost failing a class) is nothing compared to that of Light's (killing hundreds of peeps with a Shinigami's Death Note)

You know, if something like that was to actually happen, someone murdering the criminal minds of this world, would we act the same as society did in Death Note; scold his actions to keep appearance but quietly cheer him on behind closed doors? I wonder..

Either way, I hope Death Note continues in the great pace it began with.

Update soon!

Addicting from afar (away from home)

Hello everyone. My name is Amy and I'm an anime addict.

While scanning the MAL news feed (as is starting to become a routine happening for me) I came across an up and coming anime that caught my eye. Heart no Kuni no Alice, the romance adventure game, is being brought into the wide wonderful world of anime. The animated series of Heart no Kuni no Alice will begin airing in November of this year. I, personally, have always enjoyed Lewis Carroll's enchanting story of Alice in Wonderland (aside from the large caterpillar who always gave me mini scare attacks) and even though I am a bit of a tom boy, do enjoy my share of love and romance. I for one will be giving this series a shot in hopes I don't get disappointed. A bit like love itself, eh? Making a leap and putting your hopes into someone else's hands. XD Don't let me down HnKnA! There's nothing like the wrath of a woman once scorned.

Death Note and Trigun and new feature length movie for 2009? Oh my..

Hello everyone. My name is Amy and I'm an anime addict.

If you were at my side right now (which you are not but let us pretend for a second) you would see the edge of my Veoh downloading program peeking out from behind my browser window. Upon closer inspection, you would take notice to the titles of the videos downloading; Death Note, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Soul Eater, His and Her Circumstances, etc. etc.

Those, my friends, are.. well, my friends.

Like most anime watchers I try to keep up with more than one anime at once. Thanks to sites like MyAnimeList , keeping track is a breeze. I strongly suggest anyone who watches anime sign up for an account. I know it's saved my behind more times than I'd like to say when I've forgotten what the heck number of episode I last watched of such and such anime. It also has forums, clubs, series and episode synopsis and anything else you could think of under the amazingly crazy rainbow of anime.

Speaking of rainbow, it's a bit hard for me to choose one anime to talk about this post as I watch and enjoy a large range of different anime. But, to keep things randomized and fair, I shall choose anime from different categories each post.

First up; Trigun. :D
I have to admit this anime is one of my favourites. (as well as one of my first watched) It's got action, comedy, the whole good versus evil background tone and a teeeeny bit of romance. Vash the Stampede, a.k.a my secret husband, is pretty much a good guy with a reputation made up from rumours and accidental mishaps. He's more of a klutz and scaredy cat than a villainous heathen but he's made out as such from scenarios with him involved and word of mouth. Not to mention the amount of damage caused by him and the people after his 60 billion double dollar bounty. I, myself, would've been fine with 60 billion regular dollars but I suppose the double dollar sweetens the deal. Vash meets up with Meryl and Lily, the insurance agency girls. They've been assigned to follow Vash the Stampede around (as he's been causing so much damage) and help fill out paperwork and send reports back to their insurance agency.
There's more I'd like to comment on about the storyline further into the series, but don't want to spoil it for those who have not seen. If you'd like to talk more about Trigun, feel free to give the MAL forum a look-see.

For those of you that have seen the series, a little note of interest;
The promotional cover wrapper on the 14th, and final, volume of Trigun Maximum. The movie will air in theatres in 2009. The movie will, however, contain a completely original story and Nightow and Trigun series director. The movie will be directed by Satoshi Nishimura (Trigun, Hajime no Ippo) and a script from Yasuko Kobayashi (Claymore, Shakugan no Shana, Witchblade). The series will be animated by Madhouse studios. The cover of the manga indicates that the story will be about "Vash vs. Wolfwood," the two main characters. The idea of a Trigun movie first arose over 2 years ago in an interview with Madhouse founder Masao Maruyama.

Oh me oh my! I don't know about you but that is definitely EXCITING news for me! I can't wait to see my Vash all fresh and new again. I can't wait. I hope it works out alright though.. would hate for the movie to fall off track with the series and plunder. Mind you, Vash vs Wolfwood.. who do you think would win? I can't stray from my lurvely Vash so my mind is set. What do you think? Comment awaaaay~

A new post of posts

Coming soon..

Anime goodness for everyone!
