Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka Anime

I came across some interesting news today on ANN. Feng's 2007 adult PC game Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka will be adapted into a tv animation. No date has been given thus far to when the series will be released, but animation studio TNK plans to start the animation process this fall. Sooo, after doing a bit of research myself, it takes about 3 months or there abouts to create one completed episode. Hopefully the process can be sped up slightly seeing as the story is already laid out before them with the popular PC game.

So maybe if we all hold hands and dance together Akane-Iro ni Somaru Saka TV will be ready in.. the end of 2009? Maybe mid 2010? Or perhaps I'm too positive minded D:

Death Note Short Review

Hello everyone. My name is Amy and I'm an anime addict.

Being out on the road and away from long hours of internet access has left me slightly behind the times.

Well.. okay, what I'm about to admit isn't really affected by my recent lack of connection enjoyment, but moreso a more longterm slacking on my part.

I, Amoo, have only now JUST begun watching Death Note. *cringe*

Now, now! Please refrain from pelting me with tomatoes and last night's left over sloppy joe as I already feel guilty enough about it. D:

So far I have only seen the first four episodes in English dubbing (again, please refrain from throwing legumes in my general direction) which, to my surprise, I found not too bad. Both the anime AND the English voice casting, I mean. If you'd like to check it out, click here and here. (first two eps in english dub)

The beginning of the anime moves along rather fast with the introduction of Ryuk and Light's plans for the Death Note happening in the first episode. By episode four, the enigmic and mysterious L has already found so much information on the where abouts of Light that it's hard for me to imagine what other major elements can be added to the plot to make it continue the 33 more episodes to equal the full 37 episode length of the series.

Ryuk really has to be what makes the series for me. He's just there to enjoy the ride AND even though he says he's not picking sides with anyone, when he somewhat helped Light out with the stalking FBI man in episode four, I had to really wonder if he was keeping his word. Could Ryuk actually find amicable qualities in Light? Or is he only giving him hints of help to keep the whole dramatic ordeal going so he has something to amuse himself with? I suppose only time will tell.

Also, I don't even want to THINK about the look that will be on Soichiro's face when he finds out Light, his son, is "Kira". Oi yoi, parental disappointment is one of my worst nightmares. Mind you, my worst disappointment to my parents (almost failing a class) is nothing compared to that of Light's (killing hundreds of peeps with a Shinigami's Death Note)

You know, if something like that was to actually happen, someone murdering the criminal minds of this world, would we act the same as society did in Death Note; scold his actions to keep appearance but quietly cheer him on behind closed doors? I wonder..

Either way, I hope Death Note continues in the great pace it began with.

Update soon!

Addicting from afar (away from home)

Hello everyone. My name is Amy and I'm an anime addict.

While scanning the MAL news feed (as is starting to become a routine happening for me) I came across an up and coming anime that caught my eye. Heart no Kuni no Alice, the romance adventure game, is being brought into the wide wonderful world of anime. The animated series of Heart no Kuni no Alice will begin airing in November of this year. I, personally, have always enjoyed Lewis Carroll's enchanting story of Alice in Wonderland (aside from the large caterpillar who always gave me mini scare attacks) and even though I am a bit of a tom boy, do enjoy my share of love and romance. I for one will be giving this series a shot in hopes I don't get disappointed. A bit like love itself, eh? Making a leap and putting your hopes into someone else's hands. XD Don't let me down HnKnA! There's nothing like the wrath of a woman once scorned.

Death Note and Trigun and new feature length movie for 2009? Oh my..

Hello everyone. My name is Amy and I'm an anime addict.

If you were at my side right now (which you are not but let us pretend for a second) you would see the edge of my Veoh downloading program peeking out from behind my browser window. Upon closer inspection, you would take notice to the titles of the videos downloading; Death Note, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, Soul Eater, His and Her Circumstances, etc. etc.

Those, my friends, are.. well, my friends.

Like most anime watchers I try to keep up with more than one anime at once. Thanks to sites like MyAnimeList , keeping track is a breeze. I strongly suggest anyone who watches anime sign up for an account. I know it's saved my behind more times than I'd like to say when I've forgotten what the heck number of episode I last watched of such and such anime. It also has forums, clubs, series and episode synopsis and anything else you could think of under the amazingly crazy rainbow of anime.

Speaking of rainbow, it's a bit hard for me to choose one anime to talk about this post as I watch and enjoy a large range of different anime. But, to keep things randomized and fair, I shall choose anime from different categories each post.

First up; Trigun. :D
I have to admit this anime is one of my favourites. (as well as one of my first watched) It's got action, comedy, the whole good versus evil background tone and a teeeeny bit of romance. Vash the Stampede, a.k.a my secret husband, is pretty much a good guy with a reputation made up from rumours and accidental mishaps. He's more of a klutz and scaredy cat than a villainous heathen but he's made out as such from scenarios with him involved and word of mouth. Not to mention the amount of damage caused by him and the people after his 60 billion double dollar bounty. I, myself, would've been fine with 60 billion regular dollars but I suppose the double dollar sweetens the deal. Vash meets up with Meryl and Lily, the insurance agency girls. They've been assigned to follow Vash the Stampede around (as he's been causing so much damage) and help fill out paperwork and send reports back to their insurance agency.
There's more I'd like to comment on about the storyline further into the series, but don't want to spoil it for those who have not seen. If you'd like to talk more about Trigun, feel free to give the MAL forum a look-see.

For those of you that have seen the series, a little note of interest;
The promotional cover wrapper on the 14th, and final, volume of Trigun Maximum. The movie will air in theatres in 2009. The movie will, however, contain a completely original story and Nightow and Trigun series director. The movie will be directed by Satoshi Nishimura (Trigun, Hajime no Ippo) and a script from Yasuko Kobayashi (Claymore, Shakugan no Shana, Witchblade). The series will be animated by Madhouse studios. The cover of the manga indicates that the story will be about "Vash vs. Wolfwood," the two main characters. The idea of a Trigun movie first arose over 2 years ago in an interview with Madhouse founder Masao Maruyama.

Oh me oh my! I don't know about you but that is definitely EXCITING news for me! I can't wait to see my Vash all fresh and new again. I can't wait. I hope it works out alright though.. would hate for the movie to fall off track with the series and plunder. Mind you, Vash vs Wolfwood.. who do you think would win? I can't stray from my lurvely Vash so my mind is set. What do you think? Comment awaaaay~
